In Aug 2007 I was talking to a friend of mine regarding energetic medicines and he suggested an experiment that I should try.

He told me to get two jars and after cleaning them, put some holes in the top of each jar. On one jar write swear words, words of hate and resentment. On the other write words of love, such as forgiveness, peace, even names of saints and then fill each jar with the same amount of white rice and just cover with a little water.

I asked him, "what happens?". He said just try it and see. So, when I got home I said to the kids what we were going to do, of course they looked at me like I’d finally lost the plot, but we did it.

I placed both jars on my window sill about a foot apart and left them.

The jar with words of love on I would hold every now and again in a lovingly way. Sounds a bit nuts, I know , but anyway I’m going to tell you the way it is. The other jar I held with a little contempt.

After a week, the rice in the jar with words of hate written on it began to slightly mould. I thought the other would follow suit but as you can see it never has. This photo is of the jars in April 08, eight months after I first wrote the words on the jar.

To have such a comparison in the two jars is amazing. I could understand a little difference, but look at them, it really is food for thought, excuse the pun.

Everyone has their take on the experiment. I hope you try it yourself, I have my interpretation of what has occurred and you will have yours.

My daughter is studying for a degree in psychology and I have told her to just look at the jars instead and study those for three years and take that message into the world, of course she smiles and humours me, but by now she is used to my philosophy in life.

I toyed with the idea of giving my version of what has occurred here,i will not say much but I’ll just say this, i believe the jars reflect the power of words on the human system .
